Street Fighter was originally in the arcades in the late 80s and only had Ryu and Ken as playable characters. It was the primitive game to what was spawned in II and on, where the player goes through a series of fights and the last fighter is the Emperor of Muay Thai, Sagat. Street Fighter II introduced several new characters and was consequently updated and re-released over the next few years.
